Pastor Charged With Child Pornography
MARXVILLE, Wis. -- Members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Marxville met Monday night to discuss the recent arrest of their minister.
The Dane County Sheriff's Department said the Rev. Jerald Schara was arrested Friday on a tentative charge of possession of child pornography.
Schara has been the minister at the church for 10 years.
Schara has been suspended from his pastoral duties as the legal process continues.
Pastor George Carlson, a bishop of the South-Central Synod of Wisconsin, said, "Although we have no reason to believe these charges are in any way related to the church, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities as they continue their investigation."
